Reaching Your Mark: 6 Proven Steps for Jump Starting Prophetic Destiny

This is your year for a new remarkable adventure.

In this year, it’s all about “reaching your mark.” And, having reached your mark—pow—you are making your mark.

This is your year of “grasping” your desired end.

I strongly believe that this year is going to be remarkable.

Consider this word “re-mark-able”.  It is a three part compound word. By definition this word means “extraordinary, wonderful, unusual, and uncommon”. This is all you this year.

This year–having arrived at your mark (pre-determined place); you are impacting and transforming your environment for the better.

This is the year for awesome, memorable moments; the year of unforgettable achievements.

The gifts that you have been endowed with – are unique, special abilities for living abundantly and purposefully. The kingdom life is dominion life. It’s the fruitful life. It’s dominion life. The blessed life. [Not stagnant. Not powerless. Not fruitless]

“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, which called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents… So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ Matthew 25:14-21

The word “faithful” is used in this scripture twice to describe the servant that brought increase to his Lord’s investment.

Reaching your mark this year requires another level of faithfulness. Don’t confuse faithfulness with faith. Faith is an attitude. Faith is a state of believing and thinking. Faithfulness on the other hand is an action–relentless action.

This servant didn’t just believe he could multiply the talents; he “traded them”. In other words, he was a wise businessman. He was pro-active and determined. This should also be you.  The gifts and talents within you are for a profitable return; to you and to your Heavenly Father.

Stocks, gold and world currency are traded on Wall Street with a profit in mind.

In like manner, you are God’s addition to Satan’s subtraction. And, without a doubt, you are God’s multiplication to Satan’s division.

Business is the cornerstone of life. This is why Jesus used some many “financial parables” to describe the Kingdom of God. If you can understand business, then you’ll understand the Kingdom.

Here are 6 proven steps to help you reach your mark successfully:

  1. VISION — How clear is your vision? Is it blurry? How blurry? Do you need another set of eyes like a mentor to help assess what’s keeping you from reaching what you see in the Spirit? Do you need a new set of glasses—meaning—new perspective.
  2. FOCUS–How are you maximizing your time? What are the activities that are keeping you from what matters? What are the negative mindsets that are holding you hostage?
  3. DECLARATION–Keep the goal post in your ear. Faith really comes by hearing. You must become your own mega-phone. What are you saying about where you are going and what you’re obtaining?

4. APPLICATION–You have to do the hard stuff. The only things that keep you from the fullness of God’s best are distraction and fear. What are the fears that are paralyzing you from reaching all that God has promised?

Before the widow could receive her financial blessing, she needed to gather many containers. The more the better and the scriptures teach us that her new supply of oil ended when there were no more vessels to put it in. [2 Kings 4:1-7]

This widow reached her goal (mark). But, God is not going to pour into broken containers. What you knew before and what you had before is not what you need for where you are going now. This year, get the tools (containers) necessary for where you are going.

5. COMMIT –Don’t just believe. Promise yourself that you won’t stop doing what’s needful on this journey towards your expected end. Times for disappointment will come but don’t let it cause you to miss divine appointment.

In life we all have a series of steps and stages that lead us closer to God, closer to productivity, closer to God’s mate for our life, etc.

Remove the easy. It only serves to stifle you. Remove the mundane and routine. These things are choking you and hindering you from doing what needs to be done for your desired result.

6. ARRIVE—When you’re willing to risk the comfort of where you are; you’re ready for prophetic destiny. Destiny is not a perpetual journey. It’s a methodical “way of doing things” for reaching what your spirit has seen. Destiny is a deliberate voyage from the wilderness to the promise land—the land that your heart longs for. Destiny is not just one stop on the prophetic train.

In my own life, Florida in 1993 was a destiny journey. It was very clear that’s where I should go to from New York. The timing of moving back to New York was also clear. The purchase of my house was also prophetic. And, many other “station-stops”.

These “destiny stops” as I like to call them are part of God’s multi-faceted plan for your life.

With that said, enjoy the ride. Your destiny (the mark) is not isolated to a spiritual destiny. There’s marital destiny, ministerial destiny, financial destiny and a whole lot more.

It’s up to you to set your navigational system to the Spirit of God.  There are Kingdom realities set apart for you that will blow your mind. Your spiritual GPS (God’s Positional System) will always lead you to new heights, new dimensions, new levels, new realms and new glory.

Most people think too small, dream too small and believe too small. But, the world needs our big ideas and it needs our heroic dreams.

When your ears are fine tuned to the voice of God; divine direction is communicated. His “Rhema” words will give you specifics about the path you should take, where to go and how to get there. There is no guessing with God. His voice is clear and His sheep know His voice.

When your spiritual eyesight is clear; you are able to see where you are going without stumbling and falling. With spiritual eyesight you are able to see the blessings and be convinced that roadblocks are simply stepping stones. Vision makes you unwavering. Vision cannot lead you off course because you see the way.

Don’t underestimate the power of self-reflection and meditation. Self-reflection is like looking into a mirror. It is a way of assessing yourself, your ways of doing things and how you react to life. It’s the needful practical to your spiritual.

This is something I do often. Self-reflection requires honesty. When you reflect on who are you, where you are and why you are; you become more sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit for the changes that need to take place for your pre-destined place.

The mark is your pre-destined place. The mark is your upward calling. Kingdom living is a constant from faith to faith and glory to glory. [Philippians 3:14]

Traditionally, maps provide two-dimensional illustrations of a place; locations, cities and states. Are you ready for the journey? Do you have your map in hand?

2018, make it your year for a new navigational system. You’re not going to move without divine instruction. You’ll need to learn how to read your new prophetic compass. The mark has been set before. Your goals, visions and dreams are within reach.  This is the year for your manifest prophecy.
